2021 is expected to be a better year for OnePlus than 2020 and many have already started their 2021 resolutions. For OnePlus not only has it changed from Android to Android 11 but also now it is planning to continue its updates throughout its lineup of smartphones. OnePlus has been working hard to make sure they are making the most out of each one of their latest phones. OnePlus releases new flagships every couple months and has recently unveiled the next one we see in this year’s upcoming schedule. The company announced that OnePlus would not use a plastic backside panel this time around. Instead, they will stick with glass backside panels as we saw on other recent phones like the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 8T. As reported by CNET, the OnePlus line has made some minor upgrades including upgraded cameras, battery power and more. Below is a list of current OnePlus flagships available today that you can get your hands on for when they release.

Oneplus 12/12 Pro

The OnePlus 12 joins OnePlus 12, which was released in October 2020. Both phones feature a 6.44-inch full HD+ (1,080×2,440) AMOLED display, triple camera setup, USB Type-C port support, a 4,500mAh battery, Snapdragon 945 processor with up to 12 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of internal storage. They both come with the same 90Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the OnePlus 12 features 5G support and supports dual headphone microphones. It also offers two side-mounted fingerprint sensors paired with an ambient sensor and fast charging technology. However, there is some controversy surrounding the phone because of how the back camera looks. Some reports claim the back camera can look as if it were just glass instead of clear plastic as the case depicted above. In addition, OnePlus says that in-camera features like Night mode for dark areas has been upgraded and this has been improved for both front-facing lenses on both sides of the screen. Finally, the two phones come standard with a 2,800mAh battery.

OnePlus 13

The OnePlus 13 comes in at the end of the month and promises a smaller design than the OnePlus 12. Users are told that a significant amount of features is also being optimized including improved battery life and stereo speakers. There are no official specs included, but the report says that the phone makes use of Qualcomm’s “fastest” chipset yet — the Snapdragon 890 SoC. It goes on to say that the back camera system has seen some improvements. Overall, users are likely to receive an upgrade across the board with better performance. This could include night mode and high-quality portrait mode capabilities. These enhancements are also said to extend battery life. At $550, the OnePlus 13 is the priciest phone in our review but if you’re a true premium user you might want to grab this phone as well.

OnePlus 15

The OnePlus 15 will be coming soon though it hasn’t officially started shipping yet. With a 6.55-inch Full HD+ (1,080×2,000) OLED display boasting the best resolution (2,170×1,170), Triple camera array (12MP + 12MP + 8MP) and triple battery (4,500mAh), both phones will offer 120Hz refresh rate. Along with these advancements, there are changes to the camera, and overall design too with the OnePlus 15. The OnePlus15 comes standard with a single 8MP main, and three secondary telephony microphones, one primary and two secondary side-mounted sensors. The cameras will also use Sony IMX363 lenses and have Sony’s Dual Pixel autofocus technology. Additionally, the OnePlus 15 will also support Super Chargeable technology and support over 30W power consumption. Moreover, it is expected to launch in India first rather than China.

OnePlus 16

The OnePlus 16 comes later this month, but don’t expect many changes on the phone in general. Just some design changes including the lack of a notch and a bigger front-facing camera that seems set to resemble a tablet. What you will see here is a slightly larger body with a flat glass back that the company claims is twice as large as before. All of this is part of what the company calls their biggest innovation so far with features like Touch. Touch, the touch controls on the phone and enhanced audio experience. Also, the brand states a new 48MP ultra-wide lens has been added to the telephony modules. The feature is reportedly also getting a bit deeper integration with Apple’s Face ID tech. Lastly, the product is going to move away from plastic backside panels.

OnePlus 17

The OnePlus 17 has been confirmed for both models and is rumored to pack a fairly large 6.7-inch FHD+ (1,980×2,160) AMOLED display with a big sensor and powerful processor. There are rumors pointing towards similar specs between both devices, but OnePlus’s website lacks information about those rumors. Interestingly, however, OnePlus doesn’t seem to have any plans to drop the price tag given the size. Additionally, it appears to be based on the Snapdragon 888 chip, which isn’t surprising considering the fact the OnePlus 17 is touted to be powered by the Snapdragon 888.

The OnePlus 18

The OnePlus 18 might be a little further along in development than the OnePlus 15, but users are still expecting some key updates and changes to the smartphone. According to multiple sites, a new camera setup is now rumored to include a 12MP camera with AI-enhanced image stabilization and extra megapixel features for all three primary telephony microphones. Other things appear to have received minor tweaks as well as a 20MP ultra-wide camera and 8MP macro camera. Furthermore, the OnePlus 18 will also get a USB 3.2 Type-A port as well as Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity and the ability to control the phone via NFC. Also, the name of the device has been given a slight redesign and some additional branding changes.
